SAFE AND SOUND
Something fell to the ground behind
the fridge's door; he pointed his gun in the direction, and heard how Jongup
fired the SIG Sauer Yongguk Hyung returned to him, once he noticed his
son. Daehyun positioned his finger over the trigger; he was about to pull it,
but then he heard the second shot, and it wasn't from the blue haired man's
gun. For a second, he stood there, confused – and then, he noticed the blood
dripping from the wall behind him. He looked at his clothes; the dark material
was torn on his stomach, red drops silently falling and creating a small pool
of blood underneath his feet. A sharp pain disturbed his senses, taking over
his body. He looked at the two men, but they were too absorbed with the
situation. He opened his mouth to say something, to ask for help, but the only
thing that came out of him, was a quiet groan, filled with pain. His legs gave
out, and he felt how his body fell to the ground. His mind was totally blank,
clouded with pain and silent surprise. The only thing that came to his mind a
moment before he lost his consciousness was, did it really was how he was going
to die?
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
It was the first time Youngjae had
so many work in such a short period of time. Firstly, he had to take care of
Himchan, and now he was patching up his friend, whose name sounded something
like Daehyun. It was also the first time in a while he saw so many Koreans
gather in one place, and it was somewhat funny how they all in such a short
period of time became so close with each other. Especially, that it wasn't in
Koreans nature to just become friendly with the person you just met.
Two days after the intruder came to
their house, the brown haired man still was lying unconscious in the same room,
Himchan was sleeping in before. The raven was now sleeping in Yongguk's
apartment, by his courtesy and fervent requests of Zelo, who was really fancy
of the young man. Yongguk seemed a little embarrassed by the situation, the
same as Himchan, who after the incident tried to avoid the mafia Boss. It was
hard for him to confront the other man, after he cried his eyes out into his
shoulder for the rest of the night, after they found what happened in the
second's floor kitchen. He was really grateful that Yongguk tried to save his
friend; he also couldn't suppress the blush that was creeping up to his cheeks
every time he remembered how the man was cuddling him closely, whispering sweet
nothings, and promising him that everything would be okay. He still could feel
the large, but delicate hands on his back, and every time he was closing his
eyes he was seeing the big, dark eyes, looking at him softly. It wouldn’t' be
so strange to talk with Yongguk the next day, if it wasn't for the urge to hug
him once more and stay like that for eternity. Instead, Himchan choose to avoid
the blonde man, and when it was unavoidable, like when he was at Daehyun's
side, he was trying really hard not look at him.
If it goes for Yongguk, despite the
whole situation he was really happy inside, that he was able to hold the sweet,
precious body close to himself for a little while. The scent of strawberries
that was radiating from Himchan's body was clouding Yongguk's mind, making his
body hot and his legs tremble. When Zelo awoke, he felt also relief, when along
with Himchan they rushed to the boy's side. Even the embarrassed stare his son
sent in Jongup's direction wasn't going to destroy his mood. Hugging tightly
Zelo along with Himchan, for a moment there he felt like he didn't need
anything more in his life, just to sit there, with the two young men. The next
day he felt the nervousness of the raven man, so he tried no to abash him,
well, too much. He couldn't hold back to bump into the man a few times – seeing
the embarrassed stare and the flushed cheeks made him feel proud; also the
nice, warm feeling was spreading in his chest, making him hot and a little
flustered.
This time Yongguk laid his hand on
the raven's back, letting him pass through the corridor; the delicate male
jumped a little and hid his face in his black hair, blushing madly and
murmuring something, that sounded like a whispered "Thank you." The
blonde smiled to him nonchalantly and answered with sickeningly sweet voice
"Everything for you." The young man sped up and the next second he
disappeared around the corner. His Boss just stood there, a stupid smile still
plastered to his face, his dark eyes absent and insensitive to the whole world.
Youngjae rolled his eyes and adjusted the large bag he was holding in his
hands. It was full of new bandages and antibiotics, along with some other
medicine. The man still was staring in the direction Himchan left, so he
furrowed his brows and with slight trouble he put his elbow painfully into the
other's ribs. Yongguk scowled a little, holding to his side, and glared at him
angrily, but the younger male only shrugged his shoulders.
"Enough of this romance, Hyung.
I need your help, and for that I need you to focus." Himchan's friend
still was unconscious, therefore his body was completely limp. Given the fact
that he was bigger and more muscular than Youngaje, it was almost impossible
for him to lift the man, and at the same time change his bandages. Soon it
turned out that only Yongguk had the 'right body' (if you can call it like
that), to lift the man and stay like that for a little while, so that the young
doctor could do his job.
The man's expression turned once
more to serious one, and he nodded his head silently.
"Right. Let's get to it."
he knew how much this man meant for Himchan, and he tried his best to help
Daehyun to get better, as his two friends were literally going insane with
worry over him.
Youngjae walked up to the door, and
let Yongguk open the door for him. He walked in, directing straight to the
table beside the bed, not expecting anything out of place from the last time he
was checking up on the man. He started to take out from the bag everything he
needed to take care of the brown haired man, when suddenly he jumped a little
in surprise; a sweet, melodic voice just behind him, broke him out of his
thoughts.
"Yongguk Hyung, you
didn't mention you have an angel in your famiglia."
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
When he opened his eyes, a sunbeam
blinded him for a moment. He turned his head, hissing quietly and closing his
eyes once again, not used to the bright light. When he was able to open them
once again, he noticed he was laid comfortably on the big bed, just beside the
big window, of which the curtains were open, letting the sun to peek into the
room. The sky was beautifully blue, without even one small cloud on the
horizon. Some birds were sitting somewhere on the facade of the building,
chirping happily, and making the world seem perfect.
Daehyun stayed like that for a
while, letting the bright morning sun to warm up his still sleepy body,
listening to the birds and slowly remembering what actually happened to him.
When one peculiar ray of sunlight started to shine straight at his face, he
tried to shift a little, but a sharp pain in his abdomen made him only groan;
the strong feeling made his body stiff.
Once more he turned to look at the
room he was in; he was in the mansion for the first time, but he had a weird
feeling he had seen this place before. The nightstand beside the bed, table
with four chairs, a wardrobe with a small armchair in the corner and the big
mirror on the other side of the room – it all looked familiar to him. Maybe
this was one of the rooms they checked, when they were searching for that kid,
Zelo. Brown haired man frowned a little; he was hoping everyone else was okay,
especially Himchan Hyung and Jonguppie. If this people weren't treating
them right, he was going to give a piece of his mind to Yongguk. The next
second though, he stated that he himself was an idiot. It looked like somebody
really was taking care of him, the unconscious person you could just throw out
through your front door and not care about. Besides, they earlier took care of
wounded Himchan. There was no way Yongguk would do something to them.
Suddenly he felt at ease, and he let
his head drop onto the pillow. He let his body relax, trying to lay in such a
way so his wound wouldn't hurt so badly. He felt how the stitches were making
his skin stretch painfully, and he hissed in pain. He hoped someone will come
soon and give his some painkillers.
Daehyun let his thoughts wander
somewhere on the edge of his mind, not really paying any attention to the
surroundings, simply resting. When the pain subsided a little, he felt like
once more he was falling slowly into the darkness, his mind and body wanting
only to sleep.
He was shook out of this state when
the door to the room opened. He stiffened, startled – adrenaline rushing
through his body, making his mind wake up in one short moment.
When he looked in the direction, he
saw Yongguk enter the room with some other guy, who held a medic bag.
Truthfully, his mind roughly noticed the tall man's presence. His eyes were
fixed on the beautiful creature before him; the young, blonde man with round
glasses on his nose didn't look in his direction. Instead he walked up to the
table, and started to take out some bandages and medicine out of it.
Intoxicated, with awe in his eyes, he watched the frail shoulders moving in a
fast and exercised manner, taking out next things from the bag –
subconsciously, he wanted to be every single thing the man touched with his
pale, delicate and long fingers. He felt himself gulp loudly, but he didn't
look away from the angel. He repeated in his mind the moment he first saw the
man, and was able to see his face; his plumps lips were calling, no, were
screaming to him to kiss them, frail body urged to hold it tightly and make
love to it to no end. Big, black eyes, focused on the task before them, were
showing him all kinds of emotion, and he wanted to experience every one of
them. Now, his eyes travelled down the petite back, clothed in simple, dark
blue sweater; long, straight legs, wrapped up in tight jeans were showing so
much right now to Daehyun, he had to control himself no to drool all over
himself. The round, perky ass was presented to him in all it's glory, and if
the brown haired man could lift himself from the bed, he would be sure to touch
that gorgeous ass. The man felt himself smile like a total fool.
With difficulty, he turned once
again to Yongguk, who was still standing at the doorway, a silent laugh and an
all-telling smirk on his lips.
"Yongguk Hyung, you
didn't mention you have an angel in your famiglia."
A high-pitched scream came out of
the man's mouth, as he jumped a little in surprise. Big, black orbs turned to
stare at Daehyun in shock, like the beautiful man wasn't expecting him to be
awake at all. The brown haired man felt how a small laugh was starting to
bubble in his throat, but he stopped it from coming out; the blonde man blushed
now and turned his eyes away, looking at Yongguk with some kind of reprimand in
his stare, ready to say something to the man.
The older male only shrugged his
shoulders and laughed, winking at him. The angel froze with his mouth slightly
open, completely dumbstruck and indignant at his Boss's reaction.
"Well, you didn't ask. But I
can assure you, he is angel only on the outside." he flashed a big, gummy
smile, and Youngjae snorted, turning away to the table.
"Right. As if you had the right
to say something like that." he grumbled angry, still feeling the hot
blush on his cheeks and cursing himself for letting his guard down. Earlier he
didn't even notice in the midst of all the events, but the wounded man was
actually pretty handsome. For the most of his life he was sure, that the only
thing that could turn him on, were beautiful women; only after he moved to
Italy, he was presented to the new kind of love that included men... and he
couldn't tell he didn't like it. But you couldn't also say, that he was going
to jump every handsome guy that was trying to get into his bed. He gulped,
replaying in his mind Daehyun's words. Okay, maybe he was sexy, and he was able
to embarrass him, which is not common, but he isn't any exception
to the rule.
Before he turned to the man once
more, he made sure his face was completely neutral, which somewhat surprised
the brown haired man, and Youngjae felt proud of himself. Yongguk on the other hand only shook his head leniently, slowly retreating
from the room.
"Since he's awake now, I'm
pretty sure that with your help he will be able to stand up, so you can change
his bandages. I'm going now, I have to make sure that the boys know you're
awake, Daehyun." the last words he directed to the man; he smiled to him
with gratitude, trying slowly to sit on the bed, while the young doctor was
busy with preparing some syringes and bandages.
The door shut quietly behind the
man, and when Youngjae once more turned around to face the man on the bed, he
was already sitting, a grimace of mixed pain and discomfort on his face. He was
holding to his bandaged wound, but when he noticed the blonde was looking at
him, a sincere smile rose on his face.
"So, you're the doctor here? I
always thought that mafia would have some old, suspicious doctors, who from a
mile away would look like they were going to kill you instead of healing."
Youngjae looked at him with surprise, but he quickly covered it with a busy
face, lying down on the nightstand the drugs. So he knew already, that it was a
mafia? He really should talk to Yongguk about this.
"You're pretty well
informed." the brown haired man only shrugged his shoulders, a small smirk
on his face.
"Figures. Besides, the place
had so many safeguards - even the Queen of England wouldn't have that
much." the blonde also smiled a little.
"Yeah, the Boss has a thing for
overreacting. He wants to be prepared for everything – as we can see, it didn't
work until the end. And if it goes for the impression of old, crazy mafia
doctors, I had a similar vision about them, until I started to work here. But
for your own safety, you shouldn't go to other mafia doctors; they can be pretty
creepy." Their eyes met, and an embarrassed laugh rose between them, as
Daehyun slowly rose his hands up, letting the finer man to take off the used
bandage out of his body.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"Wouldn't your Appa be
angry, that you let me into his apartment?"
Zelo looked at him from over the
cooking book, an expression of surprise on his face. Since Daehyun Hyung
was still unconscious, and Himchan Hyung was acting a little out of
place, Jongup was left, getting anything creative to do. For the past day he
was wandering around the mansion and the garden around it; the Italian women, Marzia, showed him earlier a little around,
but she had to go and take care of something, so he was left all alone by
himself once more. Truth to be told, he couldn't say he was bored. In reality,
his thoughts were occupied by a younger boy, that was taller than him, but also
sweeter than any puppy you could find in pet shops. After he came to his
senses, and Jongup called Himchan and Yongguk, the boy started to blush madly;
his pink lips opened a little, like he was trying to say something, and Jongup
smiled to him encouragingly, but the blonde only blushed even more, so now even
his ears were red, and nodded his head in thanks. He was somewhat disappointed
that he didn't get to hear to the teenager's voice, but this morning he was
rewarded for it. During his alone walk in the park, Zelo caught him, and stuttering a little, offered him to spend
some time together, so that the time would pass quicker. Jongup was more than happy
to comply.
For a moment there was an awkward
silence, but soon enough they were engrossed in conversation; Junhong told him,
how he ended up in Italy and under Yongguk's wings, and in return the blue
haired told the story of his, Daehyun and Himchan. Then, the boy led them to
his room, and showed him his skateboards he was so proud of – Jongup found it
really amusing, how the moment the boy was telling about his hobby, he was
stopping to be so incredibly shy and reserved. It made him smile a little, and
seeing this Zelo also smiled, still a little shyly though.
Now, the blonde boy proposed they do
some cookies for the others, killing some time on the occasion. Jongup agreed,
thinking they were going to one of the mansion's kitchen, but seeing how the
boy led them to the apartment's kitchen he knew was belonging to Yongguk, and
where temporarily Himchan Hyung was sleeping, he started to feel
nervous. He still remembered the pissed off look the man was giving him every time
he even breathed near Zelo, giving him goose bumps all over his body. The boy
though dispelled his doubts, saying that his father was now helping Youngjae,
and later he was to attend some important meetings, so he wouldn't be home
until evening.
They managed to take out all the
needed ingredients, when the door to the apartment opened. Jongup stiffened
automatically, ready for an attack from Yongguk about familiarizing with his
precious son, but nothing like that happened at all. Zelo's face lightened up,
when he saw the person at the door.
"Himchannie Hyung, do
you want to help us with the cookies?"
Jongup turned and saw his older
friend, coming into the room. His stare seemed to be a little unfocused, and
you could still see the red on his cheeks. He looked at Junhong, simply staring
for a few seconds, until he smiled at him, a little hesitantly though, and
nodded his head. Jongup could see the black circles under Himchan's eyes,
making his skin seem even more pale than usual. For the last two days something
was really bothering him; maybe Jongup sometimes could be a simpleton if it
came to emotions, but about this, he was completely sure – Daehyun wasn't the
only reason of his worries.
"Sure, Junhongie." then he
looked at the blue haired man, and smiled to him apologetically. "I'm
really sorry Jonguppie that you were left alone when here."
The younger shook his head, patting
lightly the raven haired on the back, when he got closer to the counter.
"No problem, Hyung.
You've had it enough for the last few days. You should just rest, you're wound
isn't fully healed still, right?"
The older man only reached with his
good hand for the bowl, and let Zelo pour some flour into it.
"If I was only lying all these
time, I would be now a mumbling zombie."
The three young men laughed, and got
to work on the cookies, now talking with themselves comfortably.
When the cookies were baking in the
stove and they ended fighting over the rest of chocolate that was needed in the
recipe, the whole three sat on the couch in the living room, deciding to watch
some film on DVD. The door once again opened, and when they looked in the
direction, they saw Yongguk entering the room. Jongup felt a rush of
adrenaline, but instead of screaming at him, the man smiled, chuckling a little
to himself, seeing how Himchan blushed at the sight of him.
Then he sniffed a little in the air,
and a bright smile crept on his features.
"You're doing cookies?"
with glistening eyes he crouched beside the stove, almost drooling at the
sight.
Zelo smiled proudly, and Himchan
giggled under his nose, casting a stealthy glance at the blonde man.
"Yep, and they're chocolate
cookies."
"Well, it's good there's so
much of them. I think Daehyun will be happy to taste some." he looked at
Jongup and Himchan, as they were staring at him with surprise. He smiled once
again at them with sincerity in his eyes.
"He's awake now. Youngjae is
with him, changing his bandages, but I don't think he will have something
against you visiting your friend."
The two men without one word rushed
out of the room.
