HOW IT ALL BEGAN
This time
luck wasn’t on their side. She sighed, tired, and approached the unconscious man sprawled across the
floor. Blood was pooling around his body pretty fast and she was a little
scared if he was still alive. It shouldn’t have ended like this. Their mission
was supposed to be simple; they only had to watch their target warily from the
distance, and when the time was right just take him down. She kneeled beside the black haired man who
appeared without any warning before her, at the same time when she pulled the
trigger. She checked his pulse and although it was pretty faint, he was luckily
still alive. She turned him on his back, making sure not to do anything more to
him. His face was really delicate for a man in his mid twenties; his plump lips and fair skin made him look
pretty girly, but his sharp eyes made it a little less visible. Not bad
for an Asian in foreign country, she thought and looked up from the limp
body beneath her to her partner.
He was
standing there, with confusion in his brown eyes, brushing his neck
uncomfortably with his free hand, the other occupied with a rather large gun.
“So, what
are we going to do about this, Noona?
The Boss will be probably pissed off about this, our target managed to escape
and we shoot some random guy.” His voice was trembling a little and his eyes
were scanning the interior of the restaurant they were in. It was pretty late
and it was part of the city where not many people come after dark, but
eventually someone might see them through the windows. They didn’t want to
think about police, probably lured to them by the loud bang from the gun.
She locked
her eyes on his, trying to calm him down, but at the same time her thoughts
were running at the speed of light to find a good way out of this hell. She was
a little pissed off a their Boss who allowed such a young and inexperienced boy to take part in an assassination mission
to start off, but at the same time she knew that it was supposed to be pretty
simple and quick action without any problems. For the second time she scanned
the young, tall Asian boy with her eyes and she stand up, so that she could
reassuringly brush the blond curls from his, still a little childish, face. He
looked at her and smiled a little nervously, looking back at the guy on the
floor.
“He’s not
our target so he didn’t deserve to die. We have to help him, mio fratello.”
“But how?
It’s not like we can just take him to the hospital, they would want the answers
why he’s like that.” She heard a note of panic in his voice, and she soothingly
placed a hand on his shoulder.
“
Everything will be okay, Zelo. We will take him with us to the base and make
Youngjae look at his wounds. I’m pretty sure he will be okay in no time.”
“But...
what about the Boss? He will be mad at us even more if we bring someone from
outside in. “ He furrowed his brows and his grip on the gun loosened a bit. He
was on the verge of real panic. He didn’t want to kill an innocent man, who
just unfortunately happened to be passing by, and when he saw what was
happening, he tried to stop them.
“Don’t
worry about the Boss, fratello. Just
leave him to me.” She also furrowed her brows and sighed heavily, looking with
worried eyes at the unconscious man. It will be really hard to explain all of
this to their Boss, and even harder to persuade him so that the young man can
stay and heal. It might be even impossible for him to agree, since he looked to
her more like a foreigner tourist than someone from here. In addition to that
he looked like he was from a pretty wealthy family, with all his designer
clothes, smooth skin and silky hair. Not that they were much worth right now,
all stained in his blood from the wound just a little higher from his
heart. You’re pretty lucky to be still alive, but at the same time not many
people have this bad luck to fall into the hands of Italian Mafia. “For
now, just help me lift him up and bring him to the car, I can’t do that alone.
And we must hurry, we spend here 5 minutes too long. I’m sure the police is
somewhere nearby by now.”
*~*~*~*~*
He paced
angrily around the room, looking with furrowed brows and a dark glint in his
eyes at his subordinate. She was standing before him, head down, looking at her
black boots. How dare she, how could she do something so careless witch can
have effect on all of them! He wasn’t even thinking about police at that
moment, he had them wrapped around his finger either way. He was afraid about
what might be coming at him outside the country in this situation. The young
man looked like someone who was pretty well known in his own country and it
made him worry. Fighting with other mafia bosses and playing hide and seek with
the police was one matter, but dealing with a foreign government was something
completely on a different level.
“When all
of this is over, I will make sure to get you, Vasquez.” He hissed lowly and the
young woman gulped loudly. Then she looked up and looked him firmly in the
eyes.
“Boss, I
will make sure that he doesn’t see anything he shouldn’t see when here. I will
also take care of all eventual political matters connected with this case.”
He snorted
and turned his back from her, looking at the two men on the bed; one of them,
an unconscious, beautiful raven haired
man laying with his eyes closed and an open wound just above his heart and the
other, carefully bending over him and trying to get the bullet out of him.
“Don’t make
me laugh, Vasquez. Politics leave to me, you just make sure that when he goes
back to his country, he won’t let go a couple of paragraphs about all of this.”
He then made his way out of the room, looking the last time at the doctor on
the bed and throwing to him: “Youngjae, try to take every little piece of
information out of him when he’s awake.”
He then
pointed his finger at the woman. “And you make sure to tell everyone in here to
act normally when this little herbivore will be wandering around the base. And
tell them to keep an eye on him. He doesn’t need to know exactly where he is.”
The man
exited the room and she sighed in relief, promising to herself not to do
something stupid like that ever again. She turned and sat on the verge of the
bed, looking at now peaceful face of her unwanted victim. The doctor, a blond haired
Asian man with round glasses on his nose looked up at her from his work, now
carefully putting stitches on the wound.
“Jae,
what’s his condition?” He looked back at the man and hummed in approval.
“He’ll be
okay. He lost some blood, so he might be sleeping for another day or two, it’s
hard for me to tell since I wasn’t there.” He explained.”For someone with so
fragile looking body he’s pretty strong. Wonder if Boss would take any interest
in him.”
The last
sentence made her look at him with frightened eyes. “Just please don’t say
anything like that when he’s around, you know how much it would piss him off.
He’s pretty sensitive over things like that.”
The man
laughed a bit to himself. “Yeah, you’re right. It’s hard to tell from his
exterior, but he can be like a small child sometimes. But I can tell you
another thing about him. This boy...” he pointed at the sleeping man ”... he
was eyeing him pretty badly when you and Zelo took him in. Who knows what our
Boss is exactly thinking.”
“You say he
can be attracted to him in some way?” She starred at him with wide eyes.
“Well, it’s
one of the possibilities. I was with him even before he became our Boss, when
he was just our Hyung and I can
assure you, this is the first time he called other human little herbivore with such a sweet voice.”
*~*~*~*~*
The first
thing he felt when he woke up, was the unimaginable pain on the left side of
his body, specifically around his heart, radiating to his left arm, chest and
abdomen. He hissed under his breath, trying to catch some air in his lungs.
When he opened one of his eyes, the world around him was spinning like crazy,
and instantly he felt like he was sinking deeper into the mattress, to the pit
of hell. Through his blurry and sick vision he tried to recognize the place he
was in. The feeling of dizziness interrupted him however, and he ended up
letting his head drop onto the soft pillow once again. He didn’t really
remember what had happened after he went into the suspiciously looking
restaurant and he really wanted to recollect the memories of that time, but his
aching body and the dizziness wouldn’t let him. He was so tired, and his body
was in so much pain that it had overtaken him in no time. For the second time,
he let himself be swept away into the arms of Morpheus.
The man
sitting a few steps away from the bed, on which the raven haired man was, for
the hundredth time furrowed his brows and took a sip of golden liquid from his
glass. The numerous rings, signets and a few bracelets on his hand rang
resonantly against the silence in the room, but that didn’t have an effect on
the sleeping man. He was still peacefully asleep, and that started to piss off
the man at some point.
He ordered
his doctor to stay by the side of the beautiful boy unless he’s awake, but
after 3 days his patience wore off. Also, Youngjae’s help was much more needed when one of the squads
returned home in a really bad shape, covered in bruises and dehydrated from the
long battle. Also the woman who took the raven in, Vasquez, was sent alongside
with the young one, Zelo, to take care of some matters in Korean embassy. And
so, here he was, the Boss of all this people, all alone in a room with an
unconscious man. He told everyone not to interrupt him unless in case of fire
or someone invading their base and at first, sitting alone in a silent room
with a book, he thought it was pretty convenient. But after one and a half day
of this routine, he grew pretty bored, and looking at the sleeping man didn’t
help him at all. After an hour of glaring at the pale, calm face of the Korean
man, he was pretty sure that he was sleeping just to piss him off. There wasn’t
any other explanation he could find why, after 4 days of taking good care of
him, he wouldn’t wake up. Also, his thoughts about the man started to bother
him too. His plump lips started looking too kissable to resist the urge to kiss
them, his slender, almost fragile figure and his slightly broad hips made him
want to run his hands up and down this enticing body like there was no
tomorrow. When he looked at his face, his mind whispered to him to just stand
up and kiss those sharp eyes and tangle his hand in silky, raven strands of
hair of the man. He felt the lump in his throat and looked away, eyes back to
the book and the, now half - full, glass in his hand.
He hated
the man from the very first moment. He caused them trouble, poking his nose
into their business, and because of him now they had to infiltrate the Korean
embassy in Rome. And for God’s sake, he was just too fucking sexy to exist on
this planet legally.
He was
definitely going to kill Vasquez after all of this was over.
