NEW OBSTACLES
... Daehyun
and Jongup?!?
The taller
male ran up to him and tried to raise him from the bed, ignoring the low hiss
from Yongguk’s throat and putting a gun to his head so that he won’t move.
When he
felt a strong grip on his left arm, he cried out in pain, unconsciously trying
to loosen the grip with his other hand. The man let his arm down, surprised at
how Himchan curled up in a ball, trying to regain his senses.
His eyes
narrowed and he growled dangerously, almost throwing himself at the man who had
the guts to sit beside their Hyung.
“You...
what did you do to him? You’re gonna’ die for this” he hissed lowly, pressing
harder the gun barrel to his victim’s temple. The man looked him straight in
the eyes, his gaze hard and wild, glistening with pure rage.
“You better
watch out who will die here first” he stated calmly, not averting his stare. At
this moment Daehyun really was ready to shot him, put off balance. When they
finally found Himchan, he obviously wasn’t in a good shape, seeing how the left
side of his upper body was all bandaged up to his neck.
His hand
shook a little in anger, and he felt a hand on his shoulder. He peeked, still
glaring at the sitting male to prevent him from doing anything. Behind him
there was Jongup, now squeezing his shoulder a little more.
“Hyung, cut it out. Don’t bother killing
him, we don’t want you to have blood on your hands” he said, trying very hard
to be calm. Seeing Himchan like this made him feel anger so strong he hasn’t
felt something like this in his whole lifetime. But this place wasn’t any
normal household, and he wouldn’t be surprised if it belonged to mafia. On top
of it all, they didn’t know who was that guy. Maybe he’s an important figure
here. As much as he wanted to at least maim him in some or other way, he knew
it could have horrible consequences for them. If Italian mafia decides to make
their revenge, they will be fucked in so many ways, and he really wanted to
live longer than his 18 years.
“It would
be better if you listened to him” there was a silent threat in his voice “Of course
you wouldn’t shoot me either way, you’re too big of a coward, and that’s a
really good excuse for you” he snorted and although Jongup couldn’t see it, he
could swear that he had that stupid smirk plastered on his face. His blood
boiled in him, but he tried to suppress his feeling for better good. Daehyun
unfortunately wasn’t as tough as him in showing his emotions. His whole body
trembled and he had to grab his shoulders with both of his hands, trying to
hold his friend in place.
“You punk!”
he growled, trying to free himself from Jongup’s grip; the only response to
this was a low, derisive laugh from the man sitting on the bed.
“Will you
two stop it already! Daehyun, calm the fuck down and let me explain! And you
Yongguk, also shut up! No one needs you to add your two cents to it!” a pained,
furious voice interrupted their battle. All three man looked at Himchan, who
finally was able to sit up and glare at them, still holding to his aching
shoulder. There was only silence when all of them starred at him with
questionable and startled eyes; the only thing you could hear was Himchan’s
hard breathing and Yongguk shifted a little, trying to get to touch the younger
man; the gun in his face pressed even harder and he heard the man holding it
letting out a warning hiss in his direction. Yongguk glared at him angrily and
was about to snarl something to him, but was stopped by a delicate hand on his
knee. When he looked to the side he saw that it was Himchan’s hand and his
insides swirled a little despite the whole situation.
“Daehyunnie,
put the gun down” he’s voice was silent, but firm – the man looked at him with
disbelief and didn’t move. “Just do it and I will explain everything, you
stupid jerk!” Daehyun flinched in shock at this outburst, but this time did as
he was told. Jongup’s grip on his shoulders loosened finally, and the smaller
male stood beside him, starring in expectation at the raven; his eyes though
now and then travelled to the male sitting on the bed, and his brows were
furrowing a little.
“It wasn’t
him who shoot me.”
“You were
shot?!” the brown haired man shouted; Himchan frowned and threw a pillow in his
face with his good hand angrily.
“Stop
interrupting me, you idiot!” he grumbled, disgruntled and Yongguk laughed at
this, gaining a glare throwing daggers from the raven haired. He went silent,
only shrugging his shoulders at his reaction.
“Well, it
might be better if I tell you everything from the beginning. Sit down.” The two
men looked at him a little confused, going in the direction of the bed “Not
here. On the floor. If you’re so eager to give your life away so easily then
let me teach you some discipline.” He stated firmly, his eyes turning into slits
– he was really pissed. Yongguk smirked at this, but said nothing, as the raven
wasn’t simply in the mood to endure one more of his comments.
“When I
came here to Italy, I thought that firstly I would stay somewhere in Rome and
look around for a little while, as we agreed on. I found the good hotel just
before dinner, so I decided to go around the city and eat something on my way.
You know, I have a bad sense of orientation, so I got lost after an hour or so.”
he looked the other way, a bit embarrassed. He hated to admit it, but he wasn’t
really sure if he wanted Yongguk to know something he was ashamed of, but
nonetheless he spoke on. “In the end I ended up in some not very safe area.
When I was too hungry to go any further, I decided to go into some restaurant.
There were only three people inside, and they didn’t look like they would harm
me, so I ordered something Italian, I don’t really remember now what it was.
They gave me my food, and I heard a loud bang... and then there was only
darkness. The next thing I knew I was in here, and a doctor, Yongguk’s friend”
he emphasized the last part for Daehyun to notice it “was trying to help me.
Yongguk told me, that his friend was also in the restaurant, and when he saw
what happened, he got me here and tried to help me.” He didn’t tell them the
whole truth, partially because he wasn’t very sure of it himself, and partially
so that they would stop fighting and trying to hurt each other.
“Why he
didn’t take you to hospital, Himchannie Hyung?”
This was the first time when Jongup turn to him directly, his eyes still
scanning the older blonde on the bed.
“She
thought that because I was Korean it would be better for me to be amongst
Koreans. She wasn’t sure if I can speak Italian well and it’s seems there
aren’t many Korean speakers in here.” Himchan looked briefly at Yongguk, but
his expression was unreadable, and he wasn’t looking like he wanted to add
something. I wouldn’t be surprised if
Youngjae hadn’t told him exactly what he told me. Maybe they didn’t manage to
come up with one version of events? Or maybe all of it was true and he only
wanted to examine Himchan if he was saying the truth? And what would he do to
him if he lied? The vision of the man above him and a small distance between
their bodies just a few days ago made him feel flustered, and he was glad that
the light wasn’t directed only at him, so his burning cheeks weren’t so
visible.
Jongup
accepted the information in silence, but Daehyun furrowed his brows once more.
“If you
were here and they didn’t hurt you, how come you weren’t answering your phone?
Did they take it from you so you couldn’t contact anyone? Aren’t you some kind
of hostage that way?” he asked aggressively, throwing cautious look at Yongguk,
who now crossed his arms and listened to everything like he wasn’t caring about
his opinion.
“His phone
was covered with blood, so I made one of my friends clean it up and make sure
that everything works. He’s a busy man so he returned it to me only a few hours
ago. I was going to give it to you in the morning” the last sentence he
directed only to Himchan, turning his head to him.”If you wanted to call, you
should tell someone, be it me, Youngjae, Marzia or Zelo. I thought that
Youngjae told you about it.” He frowned a little. Of course the story about a
friend was a lie; he gave it to his technician to check the phone whether there weren’t any tracking devices in it, or
were there any calls to important Korean facilities. But about the second part
he was completely sure; he made sure that Youngjae told him that he was allowed
to call wherever he wanted to.
“Yes, he
said that. But unfortunately I never really was into remembering phone numbers,
and I didn’t remember neither yours or Jongup’s.” His face burned even more in
embarrassment, and for a bit there was only silence. He heard Jongup sigh.
“For real, Hyung? You made us worried like there
was no tomorrow because you couldn’t memorize our phone numbers? This is so
like you. And no matter what you say, I won’t change my mind that you’re more
similar with Daehyun Hyung than you
both think.” The blonde was giving him some kind of reprimand, but nonetheless
he stood up from the floor, making Yongguk shift and tense his muscles in case
he wanted to do something he wouldn’t like. Instead, Jongup walked up to the
bed and hugged Himchan tightly, trying to be careful with his left hand.
“Either
way, I’m happy you’re safe, Himchan Hyung.”
He smiled to him with relief and then turned to still silent Yongguk. “And
also thank you, for taking care of him. And sorry to cause you trouble, we
didn’t really know what more we could do” the smaller blonde smiled
apologetically to the older, and the man nodded to this, smiling slightly in
acceptance of his apology.
“Yeah...
we’re sorry.” Daehyun still sat on the floor, gun forgotten by his side. All of
this made him a little dizzy, and the only thing he felt right now was relief
and how much his mind and body were tired.
“Daehyunnie,
come here you idiot” Himchan called out to him and reached his hand to the
brown haired man. He came to him a little hesitantly, still remembering his
rage a moment earlier, but the only thing his Hyung did was hug him tightly and pat his head reassuringly. For a
moment the three of them hugged and Yongguk felt a sting of envy that this
wasn’t him hugging this beautiful, fragile creature.
Yongguk was
the first to break the silence of this touching reunite.
“So... how
did you manage to sneak here through my guards?” he coughed a little, trying to
hide his curiosity. His guards were the best from the best, and he was really
proud of them.
“The
guards? Well, after we caused the blackout they weren’t able to see us, it made
it a lot more easier” Daehyun turned to him and told him about his plan
proudly. Himchan frowned and then smiled in understanding.
“So you
were behind this blackout.”
“It shouldn’t
be possible. Fuses were supposed to be guarded, and in case of a blackout my
people have night vision goggles .” He frowned, alarmed. Daehyun only shrugged
his shoulders in response.
“We also
were a little surprised that no one came, especially after seeing all of the
cameras and guards. You really must have something really worthy to guard it
like that” he looked at him attentively.”Maybe they were completely
disorganised because of the blackout. It would be good to train them more.” He
sent him his best smirk, and the blonde winced. He still felt his painful
encounter with the door earlier. It took him some time to gather himself up and
find a working torch.
“You owe me for the bruise on my head” Yongguk
murmured quietly to himself, but unfortunately everyone heard him and he
averted their stares, a little embarrassed. Everyone looked at him for a moment
in surprise, and then something clicked in Himchan’s head.
“That
reminds me! When you guys barged rudely in...” he send them his most disapproving
glare “... Junhongie fell from the bed. Hey, Zelo, you can now come out!” when
the answer didn’t came, Yongguk and Himchan searched through the room, anxious.
“He must
have gone out.” Panted the raven haired, standing up; he assumed it would be
good to check whether he hadn’t hide himself under the bed.
“But when,
and where?” Yongguk frowned, coming out of the closet. The two starred at
themselves with furrowed brows, thinking hard.
Daehyun and
Jongup starred at them the whole time in confusion in their eyes, not really
knowing what to say.
“...So you
say there were three of you?”
*~*~*~*~*~*
He woke up
in a very drastic way; when the two armed men walked into the room, he felt his
body flinch in shock and fear and his, still hazy from sleep, mind told him
that it would be better if he hid himself under the bed. He laid there, trying
to get a hold of himself and figure out what was going on. Junhong tried to
communicate with his Appa or
Himchannie Hyung, but both of them
were totally immersed in the situation and when one of the men put a gun to
Yongguk’s head, his whole body froze. With horror in his eyes he watched how
the gun pushed even harder into his temple when his father answered something
to their attackers.
Zelo’s mind
was filled with pure fear but also anger, that they dared to treat his father
in this way; also he was concerned what they wanted to do with Himchan Hyung.
When the
smaller male walked into the room and tried to calm down his comrade, Zelo
sensed his chance to run. It seemed they haven’t noticed him yet, and it was a
chance for him to call for help. For now he thought that it would be best to go
and search for Marzia. Youngjae was out tonight, and she was the only one the
blonde knew was keeping guns in her room.
He sneaked
quietly out of the room, proud of himself that despite his big body he was able
to do it so quickly and deftly. He looked into the darkness enveloping the
corridor and sighed to himself. He may be sneaky, but he wasn’t very good in
walking in complete darkness. He only hoped that nothing will happen until he
brings Marzia with some backup.
He started
walking slowly, keeping one hand on the wall and counting the steps in his
mind, so he would know more or less were the stairs were. When he managed to
reach the ground floor and the slight echo reached his ears, he knew he was in
main hall.
Junhong
furrowed his brows in worry. At the entrance there were supposed to be at least
two guards, as Yongguk liked to know that nothing will surprise him even at
night.
He called
out their names into the air, his words echoing in the room for a moment after
his call, but no one answered. The blonde felt the cold sweat on his back, and
suddenly felt, like he was observed by someone.
Something
was off. If they needed to go somewhere, they would leave at least one guard at
the entrance. He gulped loudly.
I have to find Marzia quickly. These two
weren’t the only ones.
He tried to
calm his erratic breath down and do a step as quietly as he could. Suddenly
something wrapped itself around his arms and he screamed shortly, before big,
calloused hand muffled the sounds from his mouth. Then something big and really
hard hit him in his solar plexus. He tried to fight the painful feeling
radiating to his body and taking his consciousness away, but failed
miserably.
