FATHERLY, MOTHERLY FEELS
For the
next few days he stayed in his room, still too weak to walk by himself. By
looking out of the window he learned that he was in the east wing of something
MUCH bigger than one detached house – also, the building was surrounded by huge
garden, which was more like a forest with only a few places where you could see
a work of a gardener. To his question about this, Youngjae answered evasively
that the house isn’t exactly his but his friend, Yongguk, who wants to have
everyone close to him, to actually live with him – Himchan remembered him as the
scary, pervy guy who tried to take his “manly” (if you can call it like
that...) virginity away. For the last days he didn’t see him, but from time to
time, when he was just lying on the bed and looking out of the window, he got
this weird feeling of being watched. Every time he looked at the door though,
he was finding them tightly shut.
The second
day he woke up Youngjae introduced to him a young woman, Marzia Vasquez. She
was pretty small and petite, and without even hearing her name Himchan could
easily tell that she was Italian. She had long, chocolate brown hair that
slightly curled at the ends and also deep, brown eyes. Her complexion was
swarthy from the south, hot sun and from their further conversation he learned
that she understood Korean. She also was the one who rescued him, and
throughout the whole time when they where chatting lightly about everything and
nothing, she was sending him apologetic stares filled with pity and some sort
of guilt.
Although he
really liked her for her simple but gentle personality, and that he could talk
with her almost about everything without hearing her stutter when it came to
the house he was in or the whole situation (like when he talked to Youngjae) –
because of that one stare filled with pity, he wanted to smack her through her
head. He knew he was in a bad shape, and he didn’t need anybody to remind him
of it.
So when he
came to know Zelo, he almost instantly fell in love with the adorable, tall
kid. His shyness and cuteness made such a big contrast to his height and
somewhat muscular body that he just couldn’t help but pretty much squeal like a
fangirl every time he saw the boy. It was just too cute to bear for him, and
even though he considered himself being a proud, manly male (nevermind how
stupid it sounded), for him he wanted to be like his mother. And so Zelo (whose
real name was Choi Junhong – it was pretty though for an Italian to say it, so
they gave him a nickname) became one of his most frequent guests.
Himchan
often just talked about Korea and living there, and the boy listened in awe
about his mother country. In that times his eyes were glistening like two big
stars and on his lips there was a big, dreamy smile that made the raven just
melt into a puddle of sweetness. As it turned out, Zelo was an orphan; when he
was 4 years old, he came to Italy with his parents on vacation – unfortunately
for them, they were caught in mafia fight, and so the boy lost his only
relatives. He was put in an Italian orphanage but it was really hard on him,
since he didn’t know even one word in Italian. For almost six years he was all
alone, as kids were only laughing at his eyes and his poor Italian. But one
day, when he was wandering all alone through some not really safe streets, he
met a young Korean man. And the next day, this man showed up at the orphanage
and took Zelo to his house, legally making him his adopt son.
When the
kid was telling Himchan this story, a lonely tear wanted to make its way down
his cheek at the sudden outburst of emotions to the generous man. And it made
him feel even weirder, when he heard the name of the man. Bang Yongguk. So, despite his perviness and being a totally
scary demon in human’s skin, with his low, growling voice and dangerous eyes,
he could be quite a nice and somewhat kind man.
... Like
hell Himchan would believe this. He won’t be deceived. This monster wanted to
take something precious from him, and he can’t just let it slip. Oh no, he
won’t be like that sweet stupid princesses in fairy tales, which probably would
be overwhelmed with the generosity of the man and determined to forget
everything the said man done to them earlier. Besides, he promised Himchan that
the next time he is a bad boy (Himchan snorted loudly at this – when he was
alone he was pretty brave; there was no one who could do him harm at the moment
after all), he would rape him and he wouldn’t even regret this!
Nothing
will make him forgive this guy. No, not even his sexy eyes. Or his plump lips.
Maybe if he saw something lower...
Himchan
frowned and pouted at his own thoughts, shaking his head wildly. He’ s been
definitely too long in this country. It is said that Italians are the best
lovers in whole Europe and it seemed that this statement started to affect him
in some way. His thoughts started to be just plain too dirty for his own
liking.
He sighed
and looked out through the window. It was late summer now, the weather was
pretty hot and the grass in some places lost it’s fresh green colour, since
there was not much rain lately. Through his window he was able to see the main
entrance to the mansion and a gravel path, which was slowly vanishing in the
thicket of trees, leading through the park to the road behind the huge, brick
fence. He then spotted how Zelo alongside with Marzia and some other people
walked out of the building and to the exit of property. He smiled a little to
himself when he noticed how the shy boy walked behind Marzia and other men, and
in the next moment the woman grabbed him by his hand, probably telling him to
walk next to her. The kid was sometimes so helpless and he was grateful to Vasquez
for actually taking care for him.

“... And
then Himchan Hyung told me how for
the first time he prepared with his friends a traditional Korean dinner. He
said the kitchen was such a mess later that when they were walking out of it
they were stumbling on all kinds of things thrown throughout the whole place!”
the blonde boy laughed at the memory of Himchan and his gesticulation, when he
tried to show him the situation as best as he could in his state. He then
looked at the man beside him on the sofa and gripped him lightly at the white
sleeve of his shirt, trying to focus his attention on him. For the last few
days Yongguk was a little absent-minded, often starring with furrowed brows into
empty space and mumbling incoherent words under his breath.
“Ne Appa, why won’t we do something like
that together too? It would be fun, I don’t remember the last time you cooked
something Korean for me, and this time I will also learn to cook something!” the
man looked at the younger male and smiled softly, patting gently his silky,
curly hair. For the ones who didn’t know them, their relationship would seem
really weird. How it can be like this, a 16 - year old calling a 24 – year old his father? Well, for them it
wasn’t really wrong in any way. From the first time they met, they were linked
by this invisible bond, that didn’t let
them let go of each other no matter what. Zelo was like his son in every way
you can imagine. He taught him everything he knew, he cared for him and
protected him, but he knew he couldn’t do this for much longer. That was one of
the reasons why he sent him with Vasquez on this mission. He hoped that this
would open the eyes of the dreamy boy. Don’t get him wrong. He didn’t want him
to get traumatized or something like that, it’s just that he didn’t know of any
other way to show the real face of the world to him.
Yongguk was
raised in the slums in Korea and he left as fast as he could, after he
collected enough money from some robberies and pick pocketing. And when he came
to Italy, he fared no better than in his mother country; that is unless he
joined his first mafia gang. You can now see pretty easily, why he did it like
that. Fighting was the only thing he knew all his life.
After he
picked up Zelo, he decided to set up his own mafia gang, and so his precious famiglia started to expand. Firstly he
met Youngjae, a doctor who totally lost his national identity and his own self
throughout his tough life; then there was Marzia, whose parents tried to sell
her to one of the local brothels.
Now matter
how you looked at it, he loved this people with all his heart. In his own way,
of course. And now, the next person showed in his life. He didn’t know whether
the man had any family back in Korea or someone he wanted to come back to. But
just looking at the happy face of his boy made him think, that Himchan was
supposed to take another place in his famiglia,
one way or another. His mind also
couldn’t be oblivious to his beautiful looks. And when he saw his eyes for the
first time, he could swear that his heart literally skipped a beat, not only
from the blow he received. This eyes were luring him, tempting to do something
to their owner and when he was thinking about it, he almost always had
immediately lost control over his body, and the visit in the bathroom became
unavoidable. He didn’t see the raven since then, of course not face to face. He
just couldn’t help but peek carefully into him room from time to time, when he
was sure that the younger was sleeping.
“You really
don’t listen to me, right Appa?” Zelo
pouted at him with a resentful look on his face.
“What are
you saying, of course I listen! I was just lost in my thoughts for a second
there” he retorted, patting the cheek of the boy and smiling to him widely,
showing him his healthy gums.
“Okay, so
how about this weekend? We will watch something together and then I will teach
you how to do a homemade kimchi” his heart was filled to the brim with love,
when the teenager shouted at the top of his lungs, excited, and jumped in joy
on the couch. He hugged Yongguk tightly, and the man hugged him back, laughing
lightly.
The boy
then slipped out of his grip and ran in the direction of the door leading out
of his apartment (three rooms with bathroom and individual kitchen – pretty weird
when you have for yourself the whole mansion, but Yongguk sometimes wanted to
have some privacy without the maids walking around all the time). He starred at
him blankly for a second, not knowing what happened that the boy decided to go
out so late in the evening, it was already 8 p.m.
“ I’m going
only for a little while, don’t worry Appa.
Because, you know, when Himchan told me this story about him and his friends
cooking dinner together , I told him I wanted to do something like this with
you too, but I was afraid that you were too busy for it. And he was the one who
urged me to ask you, and he said that you would definitely agree, since you’ re
my father and you love me. I just need to thank him properly, that’s all.” And
then he was gone, not really giving him the chance to answer this. Not that he
had something to say, really. He was just taken aback by Junhong word’s.
Himchan urged him? Said he loved Zelo and acknowledged him as the boy’s father?
It was really uncommon for an outsider to accept their relationship that
easily. A sudden warmth started to spread from his heart to his whole body, and
suddenly he felt that he was smiling widely like an idiot to the closed door he
was still facing.
He sunk
deeper into the sofa and grabbed the remote controller, setting the tv on some
news, but not really listening to what the pretty girl on the screen was
saying. Her long, black hair only reminded him of the raven locks belonging to
some man and he smiled wider, giggling like some girl struck by Cupid’s arrow.
Tomorrow he will be probably really disconcerted about his behaviour right now,
but he just couldn’t help himself.
He didn’t
really know why, but when he imagined their family photo, there was him and
Zelo, hugging between themselves a widely smiling Himchan.
~*~*~*~*~*~
He felt so
good at the moment. Sleep slowly crept to his eyelids, making them hard to keep
open. His whole body felt so heavenly warm and heavy at the same time, and he
snuggled his face a little more into the pillow. The pain in his left arm
subsided a little, and he felt relieved to some point. Although the left side of his body still felt
a little numb and sore, it wasn’t really disturbing him at the moment. His mind
was slowly drifting away into the darkness, even though it still was only 8
p.m. and the sun was only starting to hide behind the horizon.
A sudden
knock on the door made him flinch on the bed and he shifted uncomfortably,
irritated that someone dared to disturb his peaceful time. He wouldn’t be
surprised if it was this pervert, even if he haven’t visited him since the day
of their first encounter. At first his absence really didn’t bother Himchan,
but with the time he started to grow curious of the man.
When he saw
the blonde mop of hair sticking out from behind the door though, his mood enlightened
in seconds and he stopped murmuring not really pretty words under his nose. He
sat up on the bed, struggling a little with, still immobilized, hand and patted
the mattress beside himself.
“Come on
in, Junhong.” He smiled sweetly when the boy nodded his head cheerfully and
almost ran over to the bed, plopping on it with a loud thud, making Himchan
squeal and giggle a little in surprise.
“I asked
him, I asked Appa if he would show me
some Korean cooking, and you know what? He said yes! And even promised me, that
we will watch something together! We didn’t watch anything together since I was
14!” the smile on the boys lips was so wide and full of the most pure kind of
joy, that Himchan found himself starring at the boy in awe.
“See, I
told you. He loves you too much to just say no” Himchan chuckled lightly ad
patted blond hair, enjoying the soft touch of the silky strands.
“Thank you,
Himchannie Hyung” he looked up to the
blushing boy, startled. Why was he thanking him?
“If you
didn’t push me to ask, I probably wouldn’t do this. Appa is always so busy because he is taking care of everyone around
here. And he also have to take care of other issues, like other famiglia...” Himchan frowned a little.
Other famiglia? What is this boy
talking about? The pieces of the puzzle he started to collect a few days
earlier slowly started to connect with each other.
“Anyway,
I’m really happy I was able to meet you, Himchannie Hyung.” Zelo showed him one of his brightest smiles and Himchan
tried to answer with a smile equally bright, despite his wandering thoughts.
“And I’m
just as delighted, Junhongie.”
